Downtown Fort Worth Water and Sewer Main Replacements

Cast iron water mains – ranging in diameter from 16 inches to 42 inches – will be replaced in nine streets in Downtown Fort Worth, including:

• Lancaster Avenue
• Summit Avenue
• W 10th Street
• 5th Street
• Henderson Street
• 2nd Street
• Collier Street (west of it)
• And, Florence Street

The project area is bound by Henderson Street at West Weatherford Street to the north, Lancaster Avenue to the south, Cherry Street to the east and Fournier Street at 10th Street to the west.

The impacted streets and easements include the following.

Water and Sewer Main Replacement

• Summit Avenue from West Lancaster Avenue to West 5^th Street

Water Main Replacement

• West 10^th Street from  Fournier Street to Summit Avenue
• West 5^th Street from Summit Avenue to Henderson Street
• Henderson Street from West 5^th Street to West 2^nd Street
• West 2^nd Street from Henderson Street to Burnett Street
• Collier Street from 13^th Street to Texas Street
• West Lancaster Avenue from Summit Avenue to Florence Street
• West 13^th Street from Henderson Street to Florence Street
• Florence Street from West Lancaster Avenue to West 13^th Street

Existing water mains in easements will be abandoned in the following:

• 13^th Street easement from Florence Street to Summit Avenue
• Easement from West 2^nd Street at Henderson Street to 5^th Street, between Lexington Street and Collier Street

This project is in Fort Worth Council District 9. Construction will impact the Fort Worth Downtown Neighborhood Alliance.

Landmarks include First United Methodist Church, Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, Burk Burnett Park, Fort Worth Public Library, and apartments and businesses.
